The problem of Human Trafficking is complex, and there are many ways for the church to engage, but one important step is to be prepared to respond safely and effectively if someone comes to you for help out of a situation of human trafficking. So, in the spring of 2015 a group of pastors, social workers, law enforcement officers and community members created The Exploitation Response Plan, and we are excited to share it with churches across the Boston area, New England and nationally.
What to expect from the training:
The Training, given by Abolitionist Network Staff and guest speakers, is about 2.5 hours (Tailored for each community), covering the basics of what Human Trafficking looks like locally, and how to implement the response plan for your church. We do some role playing, and spend time unpacking the complex impact of trauma and shame on those who are seeking help out of exploitation.
