Bland Mason, Lead Pastor
In 2010, Bland planted City on a Hill in Brookline. Bland enjoys spending time with his wife, Teresa, and their three kids - Jordan, Hannah, and Sarah. Bland has committed his life to Boston/Brookline and likes to read in the areas of theology, philosophy and culture. He holds M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees and has taught theology courses for several years as adjunct faculty at Southern Seminary and Gordon-Conwell Seminary. Bland also serves with Baseball Chapel as chapel leader to the Boston Red Sox.
Fletcher Lang, Executive pastor
As the executive pastor, Fletcher is responsible for practically implementing the vision of CoaH. He oversees many different ministry leaders, runs community groups and the LEAD fellowship, and preaches regularly. Fletcher and his wife Megan have two children, Kennedy and Shepherd, and they call Jamaica Plain home. He has been working in ministry since 2005, but has been with CoaH since the summer of 2012. He holds a B.A. in Psychology and Math and an M.Div. from the School of Theology at Southern Seminary. Fletcher enjoys reading, running, riding his bike, and watching the NBA.
Mike Hong, Pastor of Worship AND Mission
As pastor of worship and mission, Mike oversees the discipleship of the church through the Sunday worship gatherings and leading musicians in the worship ministry. He also facilitates partnerships with outside organizations and ministries, which includes anything from local neighborhood non-profits to overseas ministries in other countries.
Mike is the resident musician, philosopher, and techie. After graduating from Boston College in 2003, he continued to work with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at BC for several years before enrolling at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in 2008 to pursue an M.Div.
Mike came on staff with City on a Hill shortly after marrying his wife Tanya in the summer of 2011. He enjoys basketball, weightlifting, and also is lead singer and guitarist of the rock band Forget the Girl.
Chris Blessen, Lay Elder
Chris is a full-time architect in Boston. He and his family came to City on a Hill shortly after we launched in the Driscoll School in Washington Square. He's passionate about developing community and a spirit of prayer at CoaH. Chris and his wife Allison have two daughters, Lily and Caroline.
MATT HARRIS, LAY ELDER
Matt and his wife Sue (who's a deaconess at the church) have been married for over 35 years and became Christians a few years into their marriage. Having grown up in the Boston area, both of them came face to face with the true message of God's grace later in life. They have two grown children and three grandchildren. Matt is an engineer by training and currently a handyman by trade. Matt enjoys sailing, skiing, and hiking
jeff johnson, lay elder
Jeff and his wife Abby have been married for over 10 years and have a vibrant young daughter, Eliana. They started attending City on a Hill in the fall of 2012 after having moved around quite a bit. While they are both working professionals, their real passion is for building community and entering into the beautiful mess of real relationships.
Mollie Dykstra, CoaH Kids Director/Deaconess
Mollie and her family lived overseas for several years before making Brookline, MA home in the spring of 2012. A graduate of Trinity Western University, she worked at Focus on the Family (Canada) before choosing to follow her dream of being a stay at home wife and mother. Having a vested interest in the spiritual development of the children at CoaH, Mollie came on to the staff to oversee their children's ministry. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and all things retail.
Shane pratt, technical intern
Shane was born and raised in South Africa, but is the child of an American. After much prayer and deliberation, Shane moved to the US and got immediately plugged in with City on a Hill in 2014. Shane serves as our technical intern on top of managing a sweet youtube page.
EMMANUEL OKHAREDIA, PASTORAL INTERN
Emmanuel is a lawyer and musician. After studying marketing and French at CSU San Bernardino, he moved to Boston to pursue law and make disciples in the city. Emmanuel has a heart for racial reconciliation, enjoys playing basketball, and likes fashion.
MAKENNA HOLFORD, OFFICE MANAGER
Makenna is a point of contact for those who are in the CoaH community and those looking to get involved. She also assists the pastors at City on a Hill in staying on top of day to day tasks. Makenna and her husband Dylan, moved to Boston so she could pursue her masters in Children's Literature at Simmons College. When she is not at work she can be found reading, drinking tea, or exploring new places in the city.
SURESH SAMMANGI, CHURCH-PLANTING RESIDENT
Suresh was raised in India in a completely Hindu society, but Jesus saved him in 1997 through the ministry of a local pastor. After that, Suresh sensed a calling to ministry and left everything to follow this calling and be theologically trained in the United States in 2007. He holds an undergraduate degree from Temple Baptist College and an M.Div from Southern Seminary. He is married to Anitha and has two sons, David & Zach. He joined City on a Hill in 2014 to pursue planting a church among Indian people in the Boston Area.

We’re a church that recognizes Jesus as our true leader and head. We believe that Jesus provides his church with leaders who give their lives to care for the church. We are led by elders with both staff elders and lay elders.
