WHAT IS ALPHA?
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith. No pressure. No follow up. No charge. It runs in churches, bars, coffee shops and homes all around the globe. Alpha has around ten sessions and includes food, a short talk, and a discussion at the end where you can share your thoughts. It really is for anyone who’s curious. Whether you're interested in investigating Christianity, you are a new Christian, or you just want to brush up on the basics - this is for you. To learn more about alpha, feel free to check out the Alpha international webpage.
Some of the topics that we'll cover in the talks include:
- Is there more to life than this?
- Who is Jesus?
- Why did Jesus have to die?
- How can we have faith?
- Why and how do I pray?
Our Alpha will kick off on March 27, 2017 between 7-9:30pm at 133 Walnut Street, Brookline, Boston. There is plenty of street parking, and the building is only a short walk from the Brookline Village T Stop - as well as the 60, 65, and 66 buses. Dinner will be provided so you only need come with an appetite, loads of questions, and an inquisitive mind. "If you want a no-holds-barred, open and honest discussion, you can bring all the questions and things that annoy you about anything to do with Christianity or religion to Alpha. You ask it, discuss it, then make a decision. If you never ask the questions you'll never get the answers, and if you never give it a go, you'll never know whether it was right or wrong, good or bad." - Scott (previous guest in Alpha)
